The mission of the WELS Church Extension Fund is to support the spreading of the Gospel primarily by providing loans and grants to WELS Home Mission Congregations.
WELS CEF provides loans and grants to qualified mission congregations so they can acquire land and build or renovate ministry facilities — used as tools for gospel outreach.
How You and WELS CEF Work Together
The money WELS CEF uses to provide loans and grants comes from two sources — investments and gifts. Individual WELS members, WELS congregations — along with WELS affiliated organizations have the opportunity to invest in a WELS CEF certificate. The investments provide funding for our loan program. Gifts, bequests and donations made to WELS CEF support the grant program.
